OUR STORY BEGINS...

In 1968, Maestro Abdel Halim Caracalla founded the Caracalla Dance Theatre, which would evolve into becoming the leading dance company based in the Middle East. Started as a small studio, the Caracalla Dance School was founded together with the main company under very humble conditions. Classes were taught by A.H Caracalla based upon the Martha Graham dance disciplines of modern technique uniquely blended with nuances of Arabic heritage.

In 2000, Alissar Caracalla returned from her dance education in the United States and developed the school to international and professional heights. Alissar directly implemented new dance educational systems, introduced new styles and techniques and collaborated with the most reputed international dance teachers and choreographers. Her pioneering role successfully transformed the once small studio into the leading dance school it is today.

With a present-day enrollment of 1500 students, Caracalla Dance School is proud to be an integral part of the Caracalla Dance Theater legacy and the dance company’s quest for an ever-developing role in the world of art and culture.
